• NOTICE:  Lead in Drinking Water

In June of 2018,  Act 39 was passed and placed into Pennsylvania School Code.  It recommends that all public schools test for lead in drinking water.  Schools are to follow the EPA recommended testing procedures, reporting requirements, and if any levels exceed the primary drinking water standard of 0.015mg/L, implement a plan.  Any schools choosing not to test are required to discuss lead in water issues at a public meeting.

Big Spring School District consulted with Franklin Analytical, Inc to perform the Act 39 lead tests for drinking water.  Testing was completed at all Big Spring School District facilities on May 19, 2025.  Results conclude all lead levels are below the PA DEP set standard.
